Unilumin at WOO 2026 London: Engineering a Smarter, More Sustainable Future for Global DOOH

Last week, the World Out of Home Organization (WOO) Annual Congress returned to London for the first time since 1990—and did so at record scale, bringing together more than 800 delegates, business leaders, and experts from over 30 countries across the global out-of-home (OOH) industry. As the world’s only international industry organization dedicated exclusively to the development of OOH media, WOO serves as a key platform connecting media owners, advertisers, and technology innovators worldwide. Its annual congress is widely recognized as one of the industry’s most influential gatherings.

A long-standing WOO member and sponsor, Unilumin has continuously supported the organization’s efforts to advance innovation and sustainable growth across the global OOH sector. As a full-year sponsor of WOO, and one of only two Chinese brands among the Congress’s sponsors, Unilumin attended the event and showcased its leading LED display solutions in conversations with media and industry partners from around the world.

This year’s Congress centred on the forces reshaping OOH—artificial intelligence, creativity, and, above all, sustainability—as the industry moves toward smarter, more immersive, and lower-carbon urban media. AI is increasingly driving the evolution of DOOH, from AI-generated content and creative advertising to interactive experiences, all contributing to enhanced advertising value and audience engagement. This direction is fundamental to Unilumin’s outdoor strategy, which pairs engineering depth with a green, low-carbon philosophy that runs through the full product life cycle.

That commitment is backed by independent recognition. Unilumin is a nationally recognised Green Factory and carbon-neutral demonstration enterprise. In 2023 it became the first LED display manufacturer – in the industry and internationally – to earn the TÜV SÜD LED display carbon label, an independent verification of product carbon footprint across the full life cycle. It also holds the Intertek Green Leaf Mark for product carbon footprint. Close to 70% of its high-end lighting products now carry Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) certification. With this year’s Congress spotlighting a new (D)OOH carbon calculator developed with Ad Net Zero, that kind of independently verified, life-cycle accountability is exactly the standard the market is moving toward.

Engineering rigour underpins the range. Unilumin’s outdoor displays offer modular front-and-rear service access; ingress protection rated to IP69K for dust and high-pressure water resistance; and advanced thermal management built on dual-voltage power supplies and common-cathode circuitry. Every outdoor product is tested to the relevant fire-safety standards, with flame-retardant construction that reduces fire risk in dense urban settings. Selected models are certified to EMC Class B to limit electromagnetic interference with surrounding infrastructure.

Those capabilities are proven in the field – from a 2,800 m² display for the AKH Tower in Saudi Arabia to an anamorphic 3D installation in Warsaw – delivered through a global network spanning more than 160 countries and over 5,600 sales and service points. It is the foundation of Unilumin’s shift from exporting products to exporting brand, service, reliability, and genuine partnership.

Unilumin sincerely thanks its global clients, partners, and industry peers for visiting and engaging with the team during the Congress. Looking ahead, the company will continue to deepen collaboration with media owners, engineering partners, and industry stakeholders worldwide, working together to drive innovation, sustainability, and long-term growth across the global DOOH sector. The future of out-of-home is smarter, greener, and more immersive, and Unilumin is committed to helping shape that future by combining engineering expertise, manufacturing scale, and a global service network to transform urban spaces into high-performing, durable, and value-generating media platforms.
